ABC Swimming School is an inclusive swim school in West Derby for children aged 2 to 17, welcoming both SEND and mainstream swimmers. Owner Jenny Oxley has over 31 years’ experience and is a qualified STA tutor.
When: Tuesday and Thursday, 4:30pm to 7pm, plus Saturday and Sunday mornings (from 9am)
Where: St Vincent’s School, West Derby, L12 9HN
Classes: Splash and Swim (from 2), Beginners (3 to 12), First Improvers (4 to 16), Improvers (6 to 16), Advanced (8 to 16), SEND Improvers (6 to 17) and one-to-one lessons (2 to 16)

we have been attending abc swim school with my daughter for over 2 years now with a 1-1 teacher , emily when she first started couldn’t swim and struggled getting in to the water we tried other swimming classes before going to abc swim school and they couldn’t meet her needs 2 years down the line emily is an amazing swimming and has received loads of certificates for her achievements the staff at abc swim school have been absolutely amazing with her not only in learning her how to swim but being happy and confident in the water , the staff have so much patience with emily and a good understanding of how to treat special needs children and how to look after them,, I have recently put my son into the classes now and he is doing amazing and loving the classes
I couldn’t recommend abc swim school enough for special needs children
Both our autistic children have learned to swim with Jenny at ABC and absolutely love it, they
are both now completely confident in the pool.
The lessons are a great mix of fun and learning.
my sons been coming abc nearly 2 years now, being autisic with pda he doesnt take to anything lightly! bathtime was such a huge meltdown but since swimming with abc he loves anything with water and seeing the excitement when he achieves something is priceless! something i never thought he would take too!
My son who has Down Syndrome has been swimming at ABC for 10 years, from a non swimmer to now completing swim certificates. The pool is lovely and warm for our children. Great instructors who are trained in SEN. Nothing too much trouble. Amazing atmosphere created by Jenny, Emily & the team.
All of the team are excellent, they have brilliant understanding of all children’s needs along with going that additional mile for children who are SEND. Both my kids love coming to these classes.

Jenny at ABC swimming school is an absolute earth angel. she is always so patient with our little boy and really understands his needs and continues to meet them every week. Our little boy would not even put his head near the water when he started and now he loves swimming and seeing Jenny and all the team. Who are so amazing and really care and that shows.
My little girl adores her swimming lessons here. She’s autistic and learning the most important life skill. Teachers are all wonderful as are Jenny and Emily. Have recommended to many.
