New (October 2026): A new upgraded section of the playground is now open, with modern, inclusive equipment designed so children of all abilities can play. It’s part of Liverpool City Council’s city-wide playground improvement programme. The main playground for younger children is open as usual.
Calderstones Park Playground is in the grounds of Calderstones Park in Allerton, South Liverpool, near Calderstones Mansion House alongside a café, handy for parents wanting a coffee while the kids play. The park is also home to The Reader’s Storybarn, a dedicated reading and story space for younger children, plus wide open parkland and the ancient Calder Stones for older kids curious about local history. Toilets, café and parking are all on site.

Visited September 2026. An excellent location, clean, with equipment in good condition. Perfect for a family day out, as the park is ideal for walks, bike rides, running and ball games.
